DAVID’S REVIEWS
“….you can tell that director Fredgy Noël earned the cast's trust in no time. She even makes a mother-daughter conversation about cocoa and shea butters sound halfway natural, which is a rarity in this sector.”
DAVID REVIEWS
“The words of Alexis McGill Johnson, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, anchor this gutsy 90 ad from director Fredgy Noel.”
“Judicious use of archive footage reminds us that the fight has lasted generations, and will continue thanks to the Supreme Court's epic fail. There’s no hint of surrender here - just a plea for viewers to stand with the PPFA and other pro-choice advocates.”

“The Tribeca Film Festival, founded in 2002 by Robert DeNiro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff in the wake of 9/11, has been a launching pad for the latest rising indie talent for two decades.
This year, 61% of their lineup is helmed by female, BIPOC, and/or LGBTQ+ directors. We are excited to see one of the top film festivals in the country fully embracing the need to uplift marginalized voices in an era when they are increasingly under attack.
There are a total of 20 LGBTQ+ themed features and shorts at this year’s festival. They are:
THE HOUSE OF LABEIJA, (United States) – World Premiere, Short Documentary. A short documentary film that pays homage to the House of LaBeija through a series of letters from its members. Directed and produced by Fredgy Noël.”
GAY CITY NEWS
“In this stylish film by Fredgy Noël, various members of the House posing and voguing as self-affirming letters about resilience and being a role model are read in voiceover…It’s a terrific tribute to the members of this chosen family."
B000000M TV
“With Nicolette Robinson as executive producer, Fredgy Noël as director and other female creatives of color at the helm, “The Dogfriend” is a careful-what-you-wish for dark comedy about the monster that is straight, cis, white male privilege (when gone unchecked!) and equally a story about the various cycles and iterations of loss.”
"Noël gives her contributors agency over their narrative, inviting them to speak on their terms and reclaim their identities through stories from their past… Noël directed, produced, edited and shot the whole thing and must be commended for how she realised this film…It's a gem among this year's Tribeca line-up.”

SHOTS
“Fresh Films' commercials director Fredgy Noël moves into black comedy with this short film about a confused canine.”
DAVID’S REVIEWS
“Fredgy Noël's short film – written by Emily Kron – centres on a 'what if' fantasy, and answers it with a healthy dose of realism. It's a wry commentary on the dynamics of sexual politics wrapped up in a satisfyingly funny fairy tale, and it lands its punches with enough subtlety that most men will fail to notice that they're being ridiculed. And even if they do realise it, they'll probably just roll over and wait to have their tummy tickled.”
VARIETY
"Long-running footwear brand Dr. Martens has announced their 2021 “Dr. Martens Presents: Music & Film Series,” which explores New York and Los Angeles music communities through the lens of six emerging filmmakers: Chelsea Odufu, Wes O’Connor, Ali Roberto, Jeanette D. Moses, Ambar Navarro and Fredgy Noël.”
BILLBOARD
"The six-part short documentary-style series will be told through six different young filmmakers: Chelsea Odufu, Wes O’Connor, Ali Roberto, Jeanette D. Moses, Ambar Navarro and Fredgy Noël.”
BROOKLYN DAILY EAGLE
"This year’s festival features 108 films from around the world; a stunning array of independent films, as diverse as the neighborhood it represents. “Subjects range from the profound to the profane, showcasing the independent spirit and irreverent nature of Coney Island,” according to a statement by the organizers. In one of the shorts, Fredgy Noël’s comedy “The Dogfriend,” a young woman wishes for her dog to become her boyfriend and then endures the myriad consequences when her wish comes true.”
“New York's Fredgy Noël cut her teeth at cable channels MTV, VH1, and Nickelodeon before advertising knocked on her door. She now has a tidy commercial reel driven by inclusivity and female-focused stories. Noël is also a prolific screenwriter and documentary filmmaker, making her a regular on the film festival circuit. Boosted by access to new markets, this productive streak looks set to continue at Fresh Film.”
Two powerful new female voices, directors Fredgy Noël and Patricia Gloum, join the production company along with two distinctive photographer/director visionaries, Dennis Leupold and Good Boy Wolf.

“Shot during last year's New York WorldPride celebrations, Marieme's brand-new video for her track "Lovechild" sees the star making clear that Pride is more than a parade -- it's a protest, and one that should specifically be aimed at protecting black trans lives.”
"SELF-TAUGHT, SELF-MADE, SELF-EMPLOYED. THESE ARE WORDS THAT 100% ACCURATELY DESCRIBE GROUNDBREAKING FILMMAKER AND TOUR SPEAKER: FREDGY NOËL. "
